Kuma Handicraft Laboratory

In 2013, she moved to Kumano, Wakayama Prefecture, where she and her family raise sheep, spin thread, and weave and knit. She then started the "Kuma Handicraft Laboratory" in her home studio, a group for enjoying handicrafts. This is a group that lives with children and animals and creates things using materials from nature. In the process of weaving and knitting wearable items from plants full of life, such as kudzu, ramie, Mallotus japonicus, and Chinese quince, and from fibers such as wool and cotton, she takes a deep breath and connects with herself. It's time to cherish yourself in the midst of busy days.

In 2023, we received support from the group "What a waste! We want to utilize unused Japanese wool," and we are washing the wool we collect in our home workshop and sending it to a spinning factory.

We started selling yarn made from 100% domestic wool from November 2024.

We aim to maximize the potential of wool and create a world where handcrafts can be enjoyed.

Thank you for your continued cooperation!
